Book Review: Her Soul to Take

Author: Harley Laroux

Rating: 3.5/5

Synopsis:

Raelynn Lawson had always been drawn to her hometown of Abelaum due to its quaint, small town charm and rich history - or so she thought. When she meets Leon, she is sure she can easily resist his charm and avoid making a deal with the devil. As she fights for her life, she realizes she had always been meant to travel down this path and she would come out on top, one way or another.

Review:

Completely honestly, this was almost a DNF for me but I'm glad I committed and stuck it out. Don't get me wrong, I love a damsel in distress, but I would have liked to see Rae act a bit more tough.

It was a bit like a cheesy horror movie at times where you think "obviously don't do that" as the main character walks out into the dark completely alone.

The last 1/3 of the book though, yes. Drama, suspense, smut, romance. I was here for all of it. This book is a trilogy so obviously a lot of loose ends not tied up, but enough that you could read as a standalone - which I really appreciate.

Overall, well written. The smut was hot. The passion was palpable.
